Trinidadian company ANSA McAL says the takeover of Berger Caribbean including its Jamaican operations will further enhance its position in the regional architectural coatings market.
Group chairman and CEO of ANSA McAL, Norman Sabga, says Berger is known for its paint brands throughout the region.
He is quoted in Trinidad's Guardian newspaper as saying that through the acquisition, the company expects an expanded customer base with a broader suite of product offerings.
ANSA McAL Group is a diversified conglomerate across eight industrial sectors and operating in over eight territories.
It is publicly listed on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange with market capitalisation of US$1.7 billion.
