The Universal Service Fund is reporting that it has generated more than $13 billion in revenue from international telephone calls terminating in Jamaica since its establishment in 2005.
The funds were used to finance the expansion of islandwide access to information and communications technology (ICT).
They include the Community Access Points (CAP) project, on which $900 million has been spent to establish 227 such facilities, the Tablets in Schools Programme, wireless service for the UWI, Mona, and the provision of other technology-related services to the Jamaica Library Service.
