West Indies Petroleum signs multi-billion dollar deal with Jamaica Broilers

More investment and job opportunities are on the verge of becoming a reality after Jamaican-owned, West Indies Petroleum signed a multi-billion dollar deal with Jamaica Broilers on Wednesday.

Stemming from this, plans are in place to make Jamaica the destination for refueling ships in the Caribbean - a business known as bunkering.
   
West Indies Petroleum, has signed a J$2.9 billion deal to acquire Jamaica Broiler's ethanol plant.
   
The plant will be used to store fuel for ships coming into Jamaica.
   
Charles Chambers, Finance Director at West Indies Petroleum, says the deal is intended to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the logistics hub.
   
He added that the acquisition will see more ships like cruise liners Norwegian and Royal Caribbean coming to Jamaica. Chambers says the deal will also see the creation of jobs.
