Buju’s lawyers optimistic appeal will be successful
The defence attorney representing convicted Jamaican entertainer, mark myrie more popularly known as Buju Banton, is optimistic that the appeal he has filed will secure the artiste's release.
Banton was convicted in September 2010 for his involvement in a drug conspiracy case.
His attorney, david markus has appealed the conviction and sentence. US prosecutors are preparing to respond to the appeal.
He thinks his team has a strong chance of success at the appellate level and is hoping that the matter will be heard before year end
