LIME sponsoring Sting 27

Telecommunications company LIME has partnered with the Supreme Promotions to sponsor Sting 27 which takes place at Jamworld, Portmore in St Catherine on Boxing Day, December 26.

Among the very familiar Sting names down to perform in the ‘Warriors’ segment (in which there will be no clashing) are Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel and Assassin.

Singers Etana, Khago and I-Octane are also in that category, which has 13 performers.

The 'Bad Girls' segment of what is touted as 'The Greatest One-Night Reggae Show on Earth' will feature ‘Bad Gyal’ Ce'Cile, D’Angel, Ikaya, Face, Pamputae, Lisa Hyper and Tifa. Known for their rib-tickling as well as provoking thought, Food Kartel, Twin of Twins, Tanto Blacks and Apache and Sarge are the ‘Sting Commentators’.

As ‘Sting Disc Jocks’ Sunshine, Bambino and Liquid will play recorded music, while Cush Hunta, Nesbeth, Sean Storm, Popcaan, Zamunda and Charlie Blacks will step into the ‘Spotlight’.

DiMario McDowell of Supreme Promotions welcomed LIME as major sponsor, while pointing out that the company had been involved previously.

He described LIME's involvement as "a breath of fresh air", noting that since Guinness pulled out two years ago, Sting has not had a major sponsor.

"It happened because we have similar values in terms of our numbers, our customer base," McDowell said.

Stephen Miller, LIME's sponsorship manager, noted the telecommunications company's long-standing association with top Jamaican entertainers and events and, "as such, it was a natural fit or LIME to be part of Sting 2010," he said.

"We have been involved in Sting in past years, but not on the level that we are giving our support this year," Miller stated adding that it is a one-year deal with the possibility of renewal.

LIME will be ensuring that those who do not make it to Jamworld on Boxing Day can still be a part of Sting’s 27th staging as well, as Miller announced that ‘The Greatest One Night Reggae Show on Earth’ will be carried on Mobile TV.

"For the first time in the 27 year history of this event, Sting will be broadcast live on LIME Mobile TV, which means that everyone who has a LIME mobile TV phone will literally have all the excitement of the Greatest One Night Reggae Show on Earth in the palm of their hand."

"LIME Mobile TV customers will be able to experience all the performances, all the action and all the drama live as it happens," Mr. Miller said.
