The St. Elizabeth police carried out an operation in Newton on Tuesday morning during which 25 people were detained.
They are to be questioned.
The operation, which started at 4 o'clock, was in response to complaints from residents of Newton that young men were brandishing guns and opening fire indiscriminately, causing them to be in fear.
Anton Cardoza, Deputy Superintendent in charge of Administration for the St. Elizabeth Police, said no gun or wanted person was found during the operation.
However, he is confident that the operation has returned some semblance of order to Newton.
