64 killed in road crashes so far this year

Sixty-four persons have been killed in 61 fatal crashes since the start of this year.
  
Fatal crashes and fatalities have decreased by 25 per cent and 33 per cent respectively when compared with the corresponding period in 2016.  
   
Pedestrians account for 30 per cent of the road users killed since the start of the year, while 19 per cent of the road users killed have been private motor vehicle drivers.
     
Since the start of the year, 31 per cent of the road users killed have been motorcyclists.
    
Clarendon, Westmoreland and St. Catherine constitute 48 per cent of the overall fatalities.
