Absence of traffic lights causing delays at intersection in Santa Cruz

The absence of a traffic signal at the intersection of Wanstead Road and Main Street in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth has resulted in motorists experiencing delays.

The traffic signals were taken out of service to facilitate the widening of Main Street from Wanstead Road by the National Works Agency (NWA).

Stephen Shaw, Communications Manager at the NWA, told RJR News that mechanical problems with the unit used to install traffic signals has delayed its re-activation.

He said efforts are being made to have the signal back into operation by the end of April.
