Added protective gear provide for officers enforcing curfew order

Major General Antony Anderson

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson has said additional protective gear was provided Wednesday night to some members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force who were involved in enforcing the curfew.

Masks and gloves were among the supplies given to the cops.

"There is one place that we went to that they seemed to be a little challenged so we left masks and gloves there. So we're travelling with some so that we can assist if there are any gaps," said the commissioner.

The curfew began Wednesday at 8 p.m. and ended at 6 a.m.

The measure will continue nightly until April 8.
