The American woman found murdered in Montego Bay, St James on Saturday has been identified as 26 year old Desriee Hyacinth Gibbon of Queens, New York.
Her body was identified by her uncle.
Ms Gibbon, who arrived in the island in October, and was given three month stay, was found dead in Anchovy.
Her body was found along a road with the throat slashed.
RJR News was informed that Ms Gibbon, who was on her third visit to the island, had obtained a Taxpayer Registration Number and was seeking employment in Jamaica.
The St. James police have not yet established a motive for the killing.
