Anger, hate fuelling violent crimes in Jamaica - psychologist

Dr. Barry Davidson
A family psychologist has suggested that one of the major contributing factors to violent crime in Jamaica is destructive anger which fuels hate.
Dr. Barry Davidson, family psychologist and CEO of Family Life Ministries, is asserting that this is an issue to be studied as it can prevent the practice of reprisal killings.
Dr. Davidson asserts that anger in the society is common but it can be either healthy or destructive.
He suggests that while healthy anger incites people to improve situations, destructive anger tends to drive people to seek revenge. The latter is one of Jamaica's biggest problems, he noted.
Dr. Davidson went on to express that destructive anger can contribute to domestic violence tragedies, such as murder-suicides.
