The attorney for the man accused of being a serial rapist in Portmore, St. Catherine, is denying that his client is behind the spate of attacks in the municipality.
In an interview with RJR News on Tuesday, Vincent Wellesley said his client denied carrying out the attacks and is cooperating with investigators.
He said his client voluntarily submitted his DNA for tests.
A senior investigator Tuesday afternoon told RJR News that women who were allegedly raped by the suspect, have given statements and provided evidence.
Arrangements are being made for identification parades.
The suspect was arrested on Friday.
Investigators say since November, the serial rapist invaded the homes of mostly single women and assaulted them at knife point.
One of the more than a dozen victims was stabbed after she resisted.
