Azul hotel cleared for construction to resume following worker's death

Clearance has been given for construction to resume on the Azul Seven hotel in Hanover.

This follows the expiration of a 10-day stop order, which was placed on the site following the death of a Chinese worker earlier this month.

Wynter McIntosh, Chairman of the Hanover Parish Council, and a technical team visited the site on Tuesday. He said the police have also done investigations and it seems all is in order for work to resume.

"We are satisfied that there were some recommendations that were made in terms of security risks from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security - those conditions have now (been) met," he explained.
