Bartender succumbs after being doused with corrosive substance

The 32 year old bartender from Malvern in St. Elizabeth who was doused with a corrosive substance and then set ablaze last month, has died.
Shanna Esson, who sustained severe burns all over her body, died at the Kingston Public Hospital on Friday.
The police are searching for Ms Esson's ex-boyfriend Dwight Ian Stephenson in connection with the incident.
It was reported that on the night of February 26, Mr. Stephenson approached the bartender at her place of work in Barber Green, Southfield. 
An argument developed and the accused emptied a container of  liquid on Ms Esson and then set her ablaze.
RJR News was informed that Mr. Stephenson is out on bail on charges of rape, buggery and grievous sexual assault.
