Baugh to submit ChikV world plan

Opposition Spokesman on Health, Dr. Ken Baugh has explained why he has not submitted a work plan to the Committee overseeing the vector control programme.

On Wednesday, RJR News reported that Baugh was among 48 Members of Parliament who have not yet submitted a plan to access funds to help tackle the Chikungunya outbreak.

He told RJR News that on Tuesday he was handed a letter indicating that all MP's were to submit a plan inclusive of the scope of work and cost.

According to Baugh a plan is in place and a special tour of his constituency is to be conducted before it is submitted.

This follows discussions with Colonel Daniel Pryce who is responsible for Logistics Coordination on the Oversight Committee.

“He is visiting my constituency and based on that, the plan will be developed on what they are going to do. They are going to do some extra work there, I think that is because of the location of the community in suburban Spanish Town which is quite swampy and there will be need for training to be able to get rid of the pooling of water and the breeding of mosquitoes," Baugh said.
