The student loan debt of Morehouse College graduating class of 2019 is to be cleared by one of America's most prominent black philanthropists.

Robert F. Smith, a technology investor, was giving his commencement speech at the historically all-male black college when he made the life-changing announcement.

"You have the power within to be great, be you, be unstoppable, be undeniable and accomplish the things that people thougy you never would. On behalf of the eight generations of my family who have been in this country, we're gonna put a little fuel in your bus. My family is making a grant to eliminate their student loans," he declared.

The school's president David Thomas said the exact amount to be covered for the 396 students is still being calculated, but the sum will likely be in the tens of millions of dollars.
