Bloomfield joins call for women to delay pregnancy due to Zika virus

Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield, Member of Parliament for Portland Eastern, has joined the call for Jamaican women to delay getting pregnant until next year when the threat of the Zika virus has abated.

He warned that the threat of babies being born with microcephaly to women who get pregnant now, is not to be taken lightly.

Dr. Bloomfield issued the warning in light of an alleged increase in women with Zik-V in his medical practice.

He was speaking at the Constituency Conference for Central Manchester on Sunday.
