British man facing ganja charges following arrest at NMIA

A British citizen was on Thursday charged by detectives from the Narcotics Division with ganja offences.
 
Garfield Williams, 54, a retiree of a Luton, United Kingdom address was charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, taking steps preparatory to export ganja and conspiracy. 
 
Mr. Williams was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport about 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. 
 
He was attempting to board a flight to London when his suitcase was searched and 29 parcels containing ganja weighing 19 pounds allegedly found.
 
The ganja is valued at $76,000.
 
Mr. Williams is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and Andrew Parish Court next Tuesday.
