Broken main on Mandela Highway repaired

The National Water Commission (NWC) says the broken water main on the Mandela Highway has been repaired.
Charles Buchanan, NWC Corporate Communication Manager, says it was completed late Tuesday night.
The water main, which broke on Monday, resulted in NWC customers in Washington Boulevard and surrounding areas being without water. It also caused traffic congestion in the area.
The commission says water is now being restored to affected customers.
The NWC says the main was broken due to pressure from ongoing construction along the road. It says the fix to the broken main is temporary and the problem could occur again. According to Mr. Buchanan, a permanent fix will be done after construction on Mandela Highway is complete.
