Businessman freed of murder but still on gun related charge

While freed of murder charges for the death of Khajeel Mais, Patrick Powell has another legal hurdle to clear. 

In July 2011, detectives charged him with Failing to Handover Firearm to Investigators for Inspection. However, a submission was made by Mr. Powell’s attorney to have the matter adjourned to facilitate the completion of  the Khajeel Mais murder trial. The presiding Magistrate upheld the submission of  the Attorney.

A statement from the police says the case of  Failing to Handover Firearm for Inspection is still pending and is expected to resume in the St. Andrew Parish Court.
