Case of hotel manager vs state postponed

The case involving hotel manager Peter Bandoo who has sued the State for miscarriage of  justice has been postponed until September.When the matter was heard in the Supreme Court on Thursday, an application for an extension was approved for the Attorney General to further prepare its defense.

The matter is scheduled for September 16.

Bandoo is seeking damages for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution following his arrest in 2005 and prosecution which lasted until 2012.Bandoo along with hotelier Micheal Grandison and contractor Desmond Blair were charged in June 2005 with murder.

The case was dropped against the men in 2012, due to lack of evidence.
