Chang defends MOCA against criticism regarding corruption cases

Dr. Horace Chang

National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang is defending the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) amid criticism there has been little word on the progress of some of its high-profile corruption cases.

The criticisms come against the background of corruption allegations at Petrojam and some agencies which fall under the Education Ministry.

However, Dr. Chang says it is wrong to make such demands of MOCA.

"When you call man name with corruption, you actually tarnish the man right upfront. You don't call names until you get yuh case, you carry them to court; and I can assure you, from what I know of MOCA, led by Colonel Desmond Edwards...they will get the man. They have over 300 case in court," he said.

Dr. Chang, who is also general secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party  (JLP), was speaking at a party meeting in St. James Sunday night.
