The police state that their interest was stirred because of  what appeared to be guns in the videos, and the use of  police service vehicles as well as police personnel.

ACP Powell says the investigation is in its preliminary stage, but statements are being gathered.

He says the evidence will be reviewed and that will determine whether charges are possible.

That determination will be made by the Director of Public Prosecutions, he told RJR News.

ACP Powell disclosed as well that administrative action could be taken against police personnel who were involved in the videos.

He confirmed that the Jamaica Constabulary Force has information on the use of  police equipment and personnel, but declined to elaborate.

FLA

Meanwhile, the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) has commenced an audit of  a security company whose armoured vehicle appeared in a music video entitled "Vybz Kartel, Masicka - InfraRed (Official video)" in which persons are seen carrying high powered weapons.

RJR News has been informed that officials of  the company were summoned to the FLA on Monday. They were interviewed in the presence of  their attorneys.

A source said the FLA's interest in the matter is based on the fact that all firearms and ammunition in the possession of  a security company are under licence issued by the FLA.

It's understood that a team from the FLA audited the company on the weekend.

The probe has since intensified.
