Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton
The expanded Accident and Emergency unit of the Cornwall Regional Hospital, which operates from the Mount Salem Clinic in St. James, is to be opened on Thursday.
Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said the capacity of the facility has been doubled, creating more space and greater convenience. A minor operating room has also been added to the facility.
The Health Minister said a compassionate care programme will also be launched on Thursday, aimed at improving customer service at the clinic.
About 15 members of staff have been trained as part of that programme.
