The police are at a prominent high school in the Corporate Area in search of a teacher who has been accused of sexually touching a female student.
The student and her mother reported the matter to the New Kingston police post Thursday morning.
It is understood that the incident took place at the school on Wednesday.
Inspector Dahlia Garrick, Operating Officer at the Jamaica Constabulary Force Corporate Communications Unit, who spoke with RJR News, said she could not confirm whether the teacher would be arrested on Thursday.
However, she said the investigation is ongoing and will be "professionally and thoroughly carried through".
