Delroy Chuck
Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has given a four-month timeline for expansion of the Court of Appeal facilities to be completed.
He signed a contract on Tuesday, valued at almost $846 million for the construction of three new courtrooms.
The lack of space had prevented the government from increasing the number of Court of Appeal judges from seven to 12.
Mr. Chuck said the expansion is "a very important project" because the additional space and judges should help in expeditiously clearing the backlog of cases in the court.
