The process to speed up cases going through the Court of Appeal is to move a step further this week.
Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has announced that the court's two top floors, which are being renovated, should be ready this Friday.
In April, the minister signed an $846 million contract to undertake the project for the addition of three new courtrooms, 13 judges' chambers, including one for the president, and two lounges.
With the additional space, Mr. Chuck said more judges can be hired and additional cases heard daily.
He was speaking Tuesday night on RJR's Balancing Justice.
