People's National Party (PNP) delegates in the St. Andrew East Rural constituency have sent a clear message that they do not want to be represented anymore by Member of  Parliament, Damion Crawford.

On Sunday they voted in an indicative election for Peter Blake as the candidate to represent them in the next general election. Blake polled 217 votes to  defeat Crawford who polled 166 votes.

The voting took place at the PNP Headquarters in St Andrew.

Crawford who pledged to support Blake,d has dismissed suggestions from some of  his supporters that the selection process was unfair. He praised the work of  the returning officer for the selection, Julian Robinson, and pledged his full support for Peter Blake.

"I have every confidence in Julian Robinson, I don't think anything happened that was unfair....there were 400 people and the majority felt that what I did was not satisfactory. I will support the people 100 per cent," Crawford said.

Blake called for PNP supporters in St Andrew East Rural to unite behind him as the candidate.

"The people decided they wanted a change.... It will only be worth it, if we can transfer it to a victory for the People's National Party..." Blake said.
