A curfew has been imposed in the Kingston Eastern division, following last week's flareup of violence in a section of Mountain View Avenue.
The curfew began at 6 o'clock Monday evening and will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The boundaries of the curfew are North along Deanery Drive from the intersection with Fourth Avenue to Mountain View Avenue; East along Mountain View Avenue from the intersection with Deanery Drive to Langston Road; South along Langston Road from the intersection with Mountain View Avenue to Fourth Avenue and West along Fourth Avenue from the intersection with Langston Road to Deanery Drive.
A probe by the police revealed that misinformation about the theft of building material at a construction site led to the violence which left a man dead on Thursday.
The security forces were deployed to the area after men from Jacques Road and Goodwich Lane traded bullets from Thursday night into Friday morning.
