Customs to enforce changes to Motor Vehicle Import Policy

Jamaica Customs has announced that, effective immediately, it will be enforcing changes to the Motor Vehicle Import Policy.

Persons importing motor cycles will now require a permit from the Trade Board. A C87 Entry will also be needed.

Changes to the Policy stipulate that motor vehicle parts, such as pick up cabs, pick up beds and truck cabs now require Import Permits from the Trade Board before importation. The importation of  damaged vehicles or those considered to be in a salvaged state is prohibited irrespective of  the extent of  the damage.

This will apply, whether the damage was caused by natural disasters or occurred when the vehicle was in transit.
