Damion Crawford loses

Damion Crawford, the incumbent Member of Parliament for St. Andrew East Rural, a short while ago lost his bid to be retained in that constituency as the candidate of the governing People's National Party (PNP) for the upcoming general election.

Delegates in the constituency voted to select Peter Blake, with 217 votes, to Crawford's 166. 

Seventy-five per cent of the delegates turned out for the exercise, which was held at PNP headquarters.
