Lawyers for the Clerk to the Houses of Parliament are to apply to the Supreme Court to put on hold the Claim filed by the Senate, after the Appeal Court agreed to have a speedy hearing of the matter filed by Opposition Leader Andrew Holness in the Senate seat controversy.
The application is to be heard on Thursday.
The Appeal Court on Wednesday, agreed to a March 16 date to hear Holness' appeal against the ruling by the Constitutional Court.
The Court ruled last month that he acted unlawfully when he forced the removal of Arthur Williams and Dr Christopher Tufton from the Senate by using pre-signed resignation letters.
The crisis forced the Senate to apply to the Supreme Court for a definitive ruling whether Nigel Clarke and Ruel Reid who replaced Mr.Williams and Dr. Tufton, retained their status as Senators.
