Detective corporal held for corruption

A detective corporal attached to the Constant Spring Police Station is in custody facing corruption charges.
 
He is accused of conspiring with two civilians to scrap vehicles at the pound situated at the police station.
 
Superintendent Glenford Miller, head of the St. Andrew North Police Division, said about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers in the St. Andrew North division caught two men with car parts in the pound at Constant Spring Police Station. 
 
The men were held with headlights and car stereos. 
 
They were taken into custody. 
 
It is reported that after the suspects were arrested, the corporal called one of them on his cellphone and enquired whether they had completed their mission.
 
A colleague of the policeman, who reportedly answered the call, identified his voice. 
 
The policeman was taken into custody.
 
The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) has joined in the probe.
