DNA test confirms identification of stolen baby

The police have confirmed that the baby found in the care of  a woman at the Registrar General's Department (RGD), in St Catherine earlier this week is the child stolen from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital last month.
This was confirmed by Crime Chief  for the Kingston West Police Inspector Phillip Dodd,  in an interview with RJR News.
"It has been confirmed by way DNA. The suspect has been taken into custody pending further investigations. However, she is not yet charged, but we hope that after certain things are done, she will be charged and taken before the court,"he said.
The woman was taken into custody by the Central Village police after she turned up at the RGD to register the child.
It's understood that officials of  the RGD became suspicious when the woman gave conflicting information about the child and when she gave birth.
