Driver to serve 12 months in prison for Bog Walk Gorge crash in which six persons died

El Frego Slew, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the deaths of six persons in the Bog Walk Gorge in July 2016, will serve 12 months in prison.

Slew was sentenced on Friday in the Home Circuit Court after he pleaded guilty to six counts of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving when he appeared in the St. Catherine Circuit Court on December 5.

Slew was sentenced to 12 months on each count which will run concurrently.

He is also disqualified from holding a drivers licence for five years.

Slew was the driver of a Suzuki Grand Vitara which ran off  the Flat Bridge and into the Rio Cobre on July 16, 2016.

Six persons died, while Slew and another man escaped.
