Finance Minister Audley Shaw is urging the Police Federation to accept retroactive payments for the first year of the proposed wage deal by Thursday.
The Jamaica Teachers' Association on Tuesday relented, agreeing to accept the five per cent retroactive payment, despite its earlier vehement resistance.
Closing the budget debate Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Shaw announced that nurses have also accepted the payment.
He said acceptance of the payment would not affect ongoing wage negotiations.
The government has said workers will have to wait until 2020 to get the retroactive payments if they do not accept it this month.
