Finance Ministry post for Thomas?

RJR News has been informed that Kingsley Thomas, outgoing president of the National Water Commission (NWC) is being tipped for a senior position at the Ministry of  Finance and Planning.

A source says Mr. Thomas is set to assume responsibility for several high-profile development programmes, and is expected to take up his new role in the first quarter of next year. His resignation from the NWC takes effect on January 30.

RJR News reported on the weekend that Mr. Thomas will be walking away from the Commission, after ten months in the post.

Replacement

In the meantime, there is indication that Mr. Thomas' replacement could come from outside the Water Commission.

Our sources say the head of  an agency under the Ministry of Transport, Works & Housing is being tipped to act in the position until a successor to Mr. Thomas is identified.
