Flash Flood Watch for eastern parishes extended

The Meteorological Service has extended the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Ann, St. Mary, Portland and St. Thomas. This is in effect until 5 o'clock Monday afternoon.

The Met Office says a persistent Trough across Jamaica and the central Caribbean, continues to produce rainfall activity.

Radar and satellite imagery indicate light to moderate showers affected mainly Portland and St. Thomas through Sunday night.

The forecast is for periods of moderate showers and isolated heavy thunderstorms to continue to affect most parishes, especially St. Ann and eastern parishes Monday afternoon through Tuesday.

Marine interests are advised to exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms due to gusty winds.
