Flexi-work hours implemented in several government entities

Following a complaint from the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA), flexi-work hours have been implemented in some government ministries, departments and agencies.

It is reported that there has been an improvement in productivity.

The complaint was made as several government ministries, departments and agencies were being affected by road rehabilitation projects in the Corporate Area, the Zones of Special Operations and States of Public Emergency.

JCSA President Oneil Grant said the new arrangement was made following a meeting with the Cabinet Secretary last month to discuss the concerns.

He said the workers were concerned about being sanctioned for lateness.

There were also complaints of exhaustion.
