Former football player Roberto Fletcher charged with murder, wounding

Former Premier League football player Roberto Fletcher, popularly known as Haiti, has been charged by the Hunts Bay police with murder and wounding with intent.

He is booked to appear in court later this week.

Mr. Fletcher, who played for several Premier League clubs, was arrested two weeks ago during a special police operation in Newport West.

Investigators alleged that on October 9, 2017, the 38 year-old football player and another man opened gunfire on two men along 4-40 Drive in Waterhouse, St. Andrew during a reported gang feud in the area.

One of the men, Ashley Thompson, died.

The second man was hospitalised.
