The former heads of two agencies mired in the corruption scandal which enveloped the former Ministry of Science, Technology and Energy failed to appear before Parliament's Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) on Wednesday.
Camille Buchanan, former Chief Executive Officer of the Universal Service Fund (USF), and Carolyn Warren, who was formerly Managing Director of National Energy Solutions Limited (NESOL), sent their apologies citing short notices from the committee.
Committee members attempted to have Audrey Sewell, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, respond to some of their queries in relation to the Ministry, however, she objected.
The porfolios have been temporarily placed under the Office of the Prime Minister.
Mrs Sewell stated that she could not hold herself accountable for activities in the agencies as there is a chain of command.
