Ganja bust in St. Elizabeth

The police have made a major drug bust in St. Elizabeth, seizing one ton of  ganja and arresting a man.

The operation took place on Monday afternoon in the Lititz/Nain section of South East St. Elizabeth.

About 5 o'clock, the police were on an anti-narcotics operation when they spotted a group of  men. The men ran off on the approach of  the police, but one was held.

The police say they found the ganja, which was being prepared for export, in an abandoned pig pen.

This is the second major ganja bust in St Elizabeth since the start of the year. Two weeks ago ganja weighing more than one thousand 700 pounds was found in an abandoned shop at Bagdell Mountain.
