The Government is working towards the development of a Special Education Policy.

It will address the academic requirements of students with special needs.

This was disclosed by Shahine Robinson, Minister of Social Security, in a speech delivered by Gillian Corrodus, Director of Industrial Relations and Allied Services in the Ministry.

She was speaking this week at the Regional Disability Studies Conference at the University of the West Indies regional headquarters.

She said it is the objective of the Government to ensure that the educational system has accessible centres of learning for the development of all children.
