Prime Minister Andrew Holness
The Government is to shortly launch a commission to examine and find solutions to violence in Jamaica.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the declaration while addressing the opening ceremony of the 49th Annual General Assembly of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union in Kingston on Monday.
He said the media will be a major stakeholder as the process will require adequately addressing the broadcast, publishing, promotion and projection of material and content that promotes violence.
He argued that the media must find a way to send out positive messages while safeguarding its viability.
