The Government of Jamaica is moving to provide assistance to working parents who are facing challenges finding suitable facilities for their children during work hours.
Floyd Green, Minister of State for Education, Information and Youth, said the government will this year be opening 126 state-run day care centres across the island.
He made the announcement at a GSAT awards ceremony in St. James on Sunday.
Mr. Green said the facilities will be free of cost to parents.
He said caregivers have already been identified and trained to professionally and parents should feel a sense of security when they leave their children these centres.
