Education Minister Senator Ruel Reid has said the government is looking to train at least 10,000 people annually, starting this year, to take up jobs that are expected to become available from potential investors.
Senator Reid said there is growing interest from overseas investors, particularly in the business process outsourcing and logistics industries.
"There are a lot of investors lining up right now to come to Jamaica to invest even the higher end of what we call business process which is business process management, legal process outsourcing, integrating that into maritime and logistics," he outlined.
He said for young Jamaicans to benefit they must first prepare themselves for jobs in emerging industries by acquiring the requisite training.
