A Haitian man was arrested by the St. Elizabeth police during an operation in the community of North Hampton early Thursday morning.
Fifty pounds of compressed ganja were also seized.
The man is expected to be questioned by immigration personnel later this week.
Intelligence suggests there is an influx of Haitians hiding in St. Elizabeth. They are believed to be part of a network operating in the drug trade.
The police say they are increasing their anti-narcotics and anti lottery scamming operations in the parish.
