Husband charged with wife's murder to face court next week

Barrington Whyte, the man accused of killing his wife, District Constable Melissa Edwards Whyte, is scheduled to appear before the St. Andrew Parish Court on October 17 on a charge of murder.

Mr. Whyte was charged on Sunday following a probe by the Major Investigation Division (MID).

He was charged following allegations that he used a machete to inflict wounds to his wife during a domestic dispute at their home on Farmbroke Avenue in Patrick City on September 20.

He fled the scene but surrendered to the police with his attorney, Peter Champagnie, last week Tuesday.
