Integrity Commission explains reason for temporary appointments

The Integrity Commission has sought to explain the reasons for the temporary appointment of four persons in senior positions at the entity.

Colonel Daniel Pryce was recently appointed Interim Executive Director of the Commission.

The heads of the three entities under its control are also acting in the post.

In a news release Thursday afternoon, the Commission said it will make permanent appointments to the critical posts of Executive Director and divisional directors after its gets an opportunity to consider the recommendations emerging from its Strategic Plan.

It said it was decided to make appointments to the four senior posts on an interim basis during which time the full process of advertising, interviewing and selecting persons to fill the posts on a permanent basis will be conducted.

It continued that the incumbents will have the opportunity of applying for the permanent positions once they are advertised.

The Integrity Commission came into operation in February this year.

It is the amalgamation of the former Integrity Commission, the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, and the Office of the Contractor General.
