The Chaplaincy Unit of  the Jamaica Constabulary Force has been activated to provide grief counselling to persons affected by yesterday's shooting at the Islington Police Station in St. Mary.
A statement from the Force says the Community Safety and Security Branch has also been directed to offer support.
District Constable Toyan Ormsby,25, and  Dawnett Maxwel,62 ,died in what investigators theorise was a murder/suicide.
It's reported that shortly after 1pm,  Maxwell went to the police station to visit a prisoner.
District Constable Ormsby was on cell duty.
Following the visit, Maxwell and the cop went outside.
It's reported that the two had a conversation and shortly after explosions were heard.
Police personnel, who responded, found them with bullet wounds on the ground.
It's believed that the District Constable shot  Maxwell then turned the weapon on himself.
